Raila Odinga today spend the better part of Monday in the Mount Kenya region popularizing his 2022 Presidential quest. Earlier in the day, the former premier had a meeting with Mount Kenya governors who pledged to offer him much-needed support to win the presidency.
After the meeting, Raila Odinga held roadside rallies where he made several stopovers to interact with the locals and sell his manifesto. Opposite to the view of many, Mr. Odinga received a thunderous welcome from Mount Kenya residents.
At Githurai, Raila Odinga was amazed by the kind of reception he was accorded. In 2017 campaigns, Githurai was a no-go zone for Raila, and every other time he visited the area, he would be greeted with stones. But today it was different.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Raila Odinga according acknowledged that things are quite different on the ground, meaning that, contrary to what believes in, the ground is solidly behind him and they are ready to vote for him.
Will 2022 be the year for Raila Odinga to realize his dream of being the president?
