Former Nairobi County governor, Hon. Mike Sonko, has taken to social media to respond to allegations that he used someone’s grave for political gain. On Saturday, May 7th, the Mombasa governor hopeful was accused of praying on the grave of someone else while saying it was his mother’s. Kenyans denounced Sonko’s action in a video that elicited varied emotions online, stating that he should let the family of the person who died to have peace of mind.

Sonko now claims that the guy who was complaining about how he utilized his relative’s cemetery for political purposes was lying because his mother is still living in Lamu. Sonko went on to say that he was paid thousands of shillings to make that declaration public via video, despite the fact that his mother is still alive and well in Lamu County. The former governor finished by claiming that Joho was responsible for all that occurred at Sonko’s huge protest in Mombasa on Saturday.
