The Catholic Diocese of kitui on Saturday (11 June) made history by ordaining eight new Priests and seven new Deacons, an event presided over by Rev.Joseph Mwongela who is the bishop of Kitui.
Rev.Fr John Murage from Kamuw’ongo parish was posted to Our lady of Protection Shrine Museve where he worked as a Deacon, Rev.Fr Charles Kimanga from Kiio Parish was posted to St.James Muthale Parish, Rev.Fr Felix Masika from Kwa Vonza parish was posted to St.Joseph’s Junior seminary Mwingi where he was also working as a teacher when he was a Deacon and Rev.Fr Laurence Kilonzi from Kasyala parish was posted back to Nguni Parish where he was working as a Deacon.
Rev.Fr Simon Peter Kitute from Mutune parish who worked as the Deacon in charge of the Youth chaplaincy for some time was posted to St.Jude Mbitini Parish, while Rev.Fr Andrew Kausya from Nguutani parish was posted to Holy Spirit Ikutha Parish. Two Missionary priests Rev.Fr Evans Musyoka from Kiio Parish and Rev.Fr Clement Mbithi from Mbitini Parish, Machakos Diocese who were from Comboni Missionaries were also ordained by Bishop Mwongela.

Deacon Mathew Mutua from Ikutha Parish was commissioned to go and serve at the newly opened St.Francis of Assisi Mathuki Parish, Deacon Erastus Mwaniki from Kabati parish was posted to Holy Family Parish Mutomo and Deacon Francis Malombe who is from Boma Parish was taken to St.Joseph’s Mutitu Parish. Deacon Vincent Mutonya from St.Pauls Kasyala Parish was posted to St.Joseph’s Voo Parish, Deacon John Sila from Ikutha Parish was posted to Endau Parish, Deacon John Munzaa from Boma parish was sent to Ikanga Parish and Deacon Andrew Kimanzi from Miambani parish was posted to Good Shepherd Mwingi.
The newly ordained servants of God were called upon by Bishop Joseph Mwongela to be humble servants who will help him in spreading the gospel, especially from the growing faith and parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Kitui.
