On Saturday celebrations rocked Dp Ruto’s UDA party and the entire Kenya Kwanza movement. This came in after their candidate finally got cleared by the IEBC after battling a court case which had prevented him from being cleared. Wesley Rotich who is running for Elgeyo Marakwet gubernatorial seat was cleared by the electoral commision. His clearance had been blocked by two voters who had gone to court to challenge his eligibility. However, Rotich won this case today (Saturday) which made the IEBC to clear him to vie for the top county’s seat.

“United Democratic Alliance (UDA) governor candidate in Elgeyo Marakwet Wesley Rotich and his running mate Grace Cheserek have been cleared to run in the August 9 polls.Their joint ticket had run into headwinds when two applicants filed a case challenging Prof Cheserek’s eligibility” a statement read.
