Moments after President Uhuru criticized his Deputy William Ruto for abandoning his duties, DP Ruto hit back at him. Speaking at Chuka during his campaigns, Ruto told President Uhuru that when they were at a consensus with each other, they performed well and delivered to the people of Kenya but after he isolated him and delegated his duties to other people, things changed.
Ruto also told Uhuru that he doesn’t want to get support from him and thus he should retire peacefully and leave him to battle out with Raila. “Help me to tell President Uhuru to leave me to compete with ‘bwana kitendawili’ (referring to Raila). I have not told President Uhuru to support me, so let him relax, I’m good enough to deal with ‘kitendawili’,” Ruto told the crowd in Chuka. Ruto also exuded confidence that he will defeat Raila by a landslide in the coming August polls.
