Professor Herman Manyora, a political observer, has urged Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate for the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance, to refrain from getting involved in the “fights” between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
When Uhuru Kenyatta joined hands with Raila during their handshake, Raila defended the president by saying that it was difficult for Uhuru after the 2017 elections.
The former prime minister continued by criticizing Ruto for insulting the president while failing to assist Uhuru in fulfilling his promises to Kenyans and claiming that there were serious allegations of corruption on Ruto’s side.
Manyora advised Raila to stay out of the argument between Uhuru and Ruto as he concentrated on his campaign, claiming that even though it could be difficult to avoid, he should stay away and keep pushing his agenda.
“It might be hard to avoid that discussion, but if I were Raila, I would not like to be part of it. Let the duo do their thing, and this is because Uhuru is roasting Ruto, and it is the DP who will lose in the long run. It is not good for Raila to involve himself; he should let them be and focus on the elections,” Manyora stated.
He continued by asserting that the current events and the public outburst between Uhuru and Ruto were indicators that the Jubilee government was in trouble. Manyora also predicted a landslide victory to Raila.
